help from above

I was already good at social distancing. Yesterday it was tested when a couple of 30 somethings walked by having a heated argument.
I'm sure there is a lot of that right now. They didn't see me in my hiding place but I saw him shove her.
I was like "oh crap, I didn't want to put my hands on anyone today" I didn't have to.
Across the street some Latino-mericans were roofing.
I mention their ethnicity to clarify that until Mr.Shovesworth got handsy, they had been happily hammering and shouting/singing in Spanish.
Now they had all stopped and were looking at him and/or the ladder.
He realized it was decidedly unhealthy to pursue his course of actions so he promptly effed off.
Thanks Fellas!

empty nesters

A young man from Denmark is in one of the rooms. He is keeping to himself.
Works for me, The other room has a nice couple from Seattle.
This is their first weekend being "Empty Nesters"
The couple dropped their son off in the Burbs and decided to have a Portland weekend.
As the two arrived on the dark porch I was sitting in the dark wearing only a kilt and fishnets,
talking to you on the internet, practicing a YoYo with my big toe and chomping on a joint the size of a jumbo crayon. I wasn't expecting company.
I fell all over myself trying to get me together. I dropped the cherry of my joint down my leg, lost my yoyo and spilled my coffee, then I clamored over to the keypad and typed them in.
They just looked at me smiling like I was a raccoon with a jar stuck on my head.
I showed them the house and rooms. She loved talking to Olive and I because we both had lots of the day's residual glitter on still. We sparkle when we talk.
After they showered and slept a bit they met me back out front.
The two had taken 19 y.o.kid on a last family camping trip.
They camped next to a Latino family. Across the river another family were upset at the brown family's existence.
They we shouting about the wall and "go back" epithets while parading around with guns.
So the family decided to crank up some Do Wop music to drown them out.
The Latinos family were all into that they said.
After the camping trip they dropped Sonny off with his Dad.
Dad said "You going to Portland? Watch out...they got them Antiffas down there and they WILL jump you."
(I listen to the cop radio a lot. The people getting jumped are typically gay or black.)
She told her Ex. "I'm not a fascist so I'll be fine." Of course what she found was more friendly people than she has seen in a long time. They love how nice we are around here compared to the Emerald City.
We talked about the whole "empty nest" situation. I was excited for them.
Great time to reinvent themselves and they know it.
We said goodnight. I didn't get to say goodbye to them but they left a lovely review about us.

We gotta be clowns even when couple are in a bad way.

Downstairs a couple are having a gnarly argument.
The two Canadians in the other room left early. We woke to the tell-tale sounds of a bitchfest complete with door slamming and banging around.
Olive came up from downstairs with a decadent smile.
She whispered,  "That couple are bicker fighting, it's heated."
Then it became the fun challenge.
How do we put our clown drag on while a couple who are not having a good vacation are having it out in the same hallway?
I wish we had time to get involved.
That would be entertaining but we gotta go to work.
After stalling as long as possible we went downstairs to face the music.
They decided to do the hiding thing.
That's cool.
We could hear them but we still have no idea what they look like or anything about them.
They were gone when we got home so I guess we will never know what the big deal was.

The first couple I met here a while back had a similar situation ...but... different.
They were up from the Bay Area for a wedding.
I got home from clowning and went to the backyard for some good old  "4:20 safety meeting."
The couple joined me.
I warned them that it's strong.
As we get to know each other I see the effects are effecting them. They were giggling less and looking at me suspiciously.
I have a crazy high tolerance so I was fine. They however, were realizing that they were smoking out with a clown.
They looked creeped out as they dashed off to their room.

20 min. later I'm in the brekky nook, wiping out some fruity pebbles. I heard muffled shouting but that would be none of my beezwax. Pebble on!
Suddenly the dude walks out and asks, "Did Jacky come by here?"
I did seem to see a blurred flash go by between slurps of my milk candy.
I looked out the window, motioning for him to look.
Across the street his GF was standing there crying by the neighbor's garbage can.
As he sees her his phone starts ringing.
It's her.
He walks to the edge of our driveway and has a lovely argument on the phone... with her standing across the street.
I was rivited, watching the nature documentary.
They had it out, looking right at each other still on the phones.
I'm sorry they were having a hard time but the visuals of the scene were very comical.
It would have been so dramatic had there been traffic.

There wasn't any traffic.
Vacations aren't all gravy.
They got it together and soon joined me in the back for round two, and three etc.
I'm here to help.

Olive said "Hey come downstairs...and bring a camara!"

Here is something you don't see every day.

Houseclowns get to scrub trashcans.

I'm right handed ...

but I had to learn to eat goofy footed because Olive Rootbeer's version of "intimate meal" is very intimate (all up in my biddness every day).
I didn't mind acquiring the new skill, I like hug-munching too.

We got home today soaked and face melted after rocking a party appearance.

We got home today soaked and face melted after rocking a party appearance.
We could have worn raincoats but we purposely don't. When folks in traffic see us drenched in bad weather they lose their minds.
People honk, yell and encourage us the entire commute. Normally they only do that for most of our commute.
It's a profound delight to make those folks so happy.
We do pick our moments and do this sparingly.
The gear and threads can only take so many torrents.
Also this is how George Washington died.
He got sick after a long horse ride in the rain. We ain't going down like that.
All warm and dry now.
Hope you are too.
